Texoma’s Golden Apple Award Presentation by Sherman Chevrolet
Every month — September through April — your Texoma Chevy Dealers choose a local educator to be Texoma’s Golden Apple Award recipient for their region. Nominations are sent to the selection committee, where they decide on the finalists. Texoma’s Golden Apple Award winners then receive recognition from their local Chevrolet dealer along with a $500 check for personal or educational use. They are also interviewed for a Texoma’s Golden Apple Award segment broadcast on KTEN News. Hello, I’m Mike Nelson from Sherman Chevrolet and Texoma Chevy Dealers. Today, we proudly present Mindy Rodriguez with $750 as the Texoma’s Golden Apple of the Month.
Mindy is not just an educator; she’s a beacon of positivity and leadership. Evolving from a teacher to an exceptional administrator, she currently oversees the 6th grade and the Social Studies/English department at Piner Middle School.
Mrs. Rodriguez is the backbone of academic excellence at Piner Middle School. She embodies our Big 3 principles: Safety, respect, and responsibility; fostering an environment where students can thrive.
Mrs. Rodriguez, known as the “data queen,” meticulously analyzes school data to ensure teachers align with TEKS and meet standards, playing a vital role in driving continuous improvement.
Beyond her duties, Mindy actively engages in the PTA, solidifying her connection to the school community. Her commitment extends to attending students’ activities, showcasing her as not just an administrator but a community member.
Yet, it’s Mindy’s heart of gold that sets her apart. The unsung hero who does the right thing when no one is looking, she goes above and beyond for the staff and students, emphasizing that the heart of education lies in compassion, dedication, and genuine care.
